GTBuy listing images, QC photos and buyer photos: the differences

Before judging a product from a picture, identify who supplied it and what item it actually records.

An explanation of image provenance. Listing images, order-specific inspection images and buyer photographs record different things. No image is presented as our own inspection.

Basis & references ↓

Three photographs of a similar product can answer three different questions. Keep their sources separate when you compare listings.

Listing image

The product cards here use images attached to source catalog entries. They help you identify an item and open its detail page. They do not confirm that a specific unit has been inspected, that a size is in stock or that a photographed option is the one you will receive.

Warehouse QC photograph

A warehouse image should document an item associated with an order. Check the reference, size, colour and relevant angles. This feed supplies a count of QC references for some entries but does not expose a separate QC gallery for us to display.

Buyer photograph

A photograph in a buyer report belongs to that author’s item and circumstances. Batch, size and later production can differ. Our Reddit buyer summaries link to original discussions rather than republishing those images as photos of our catalog products.

Image sourceUseful question
ListingDoes this reference appear to match the design or option I am researching?
Order QCDoes the actual ordered item show the selected labels, measurements and visible details?
Buyer reportWhat did this author report about the item received?

None of these alone proves authenticity or long-term durability. Continue with the QC guide for an item-specific photo request.

What to do when two photos appear to disagree

Suppose a listing shows a white hoodie but a warehouse image looks cream. First match the order reference, selected colour and size label; then ask for another view under more neutral lighting. A colour difference alone cannot distinguish lighting from a different item. If a buyer photograph shows the same design, check whether its source link and option match before using it as context. Do not attach a Reddit photograph to a catalog product merely because the brand looks familiar. Keep the original report, the catalog entry and your order evidence as separate records.

Questions about this topic

Are the product listing images QC photos?

Not necessarily. A listing image illustrates the catalog entry; a warehouse QC photo should identify the actual ordered item and selected option. We do not relabel listing images as warehouse inspections.

Listing photos versus QC photos
What does the QC reference count mean?

It is the number of QC photo references reported by the source feed. It is not a score, a passed inspection or proof that a photo matches the option you want. A source gallery link is shown only when its public URL is supplied; a count alone does not create an accessible gallery.

What to inspect in QC photos
Can photos prove authenticity or long-term quality?

Photos can document visible details, labels and damage. They cannot on their own establish authenticity, material safety, durability or the reliability of a seller.
